We offer classes in pottery for adults and for children. Prices for classes include all materials, unless otherwise noted.

Guest Artist Workshops

Laurel Siwicki | Journey Sculpture

Salvation - sculpture by artist Laurel Siwicki. Traveler's Voyage sculpture by artist Laurel Siwicki.
During this workshop students will explore their own personal journeys and learn how to turn them into a ceramic sculpture. Students will begin by discussing what a journey is and then reflecting on where they have been and where they still have to go. Images from this discussion will then be used to create their explorative sculpture. Using a variety of hand building techniques students will collage together the various aspects of their story into a work of art. Artist at any level are welcome to join the class.

Laurel Siwicki | Angel Sculpture

Clay figure sculpture by artist Laurel Siwicki.During this workshop students will create a figure while learning how to use different hand-building techniques in clay. Students will have several types of figures to choose from to make- an animal or human figure, or a figure that allows them to use their self-expression. Using slap, molds, impressing, stamping, and pinching students will create a figurative work in clay. This is a two day workshop. On the first day students will create their figures; on the following day they will glaze their pieces.

Pottery

Pottery teacher and gallery owner Mercedes Rodgers demonstrates a wheel-thrown vase.Get your hands in clay, meet interesting people, and share the miracle of turning mud into something beautiful. Our studio specializes in teaching wheel-thrown pottery and offers instruction for all levels. Classes are informal and kept small to guarantee a wheel for every student. Classes meet once per week.

Make a Sushi Tray Set

During this class you will make a 2-4 piece sushi tray set. Using basic slab building and texture techniques you will create a set that you can use for years to come.

Tile Making

Are you looking for unique tiles for a home decorating project, or have you always wanted to make your own tiles? If so this is the class for you! In this session you will make a few decorative tiles with images and patterns of your choice.

Family, Teen, and Kid's Classes

Family Pottery

Bring your family and make some pottery together. You can work on the wheel or hand build a pot. Each person will get to make at least one piece of pottery. You can come to another class to glaze your piece or for a firing fee we can glaze your piece for you.

Kid's Pottery (Ages 5+)

In this class children get a chance to be creative while learning about clay. They will be introduced to pottery techniques and vocabulary while creating something they will treasure. Students will learn hand building techniques such as pinched forms, coil building, and slab construction.
