Fort Walton Beach - The Fort Walton Beach Police Department is hosting its annual Peace Officers’ Memorial on Friday, May 14th at 6:50 a.m., outside the department’s headquarters located at 7 Hollywood Boulevard. During the ceremony, the names of law enforcement officers, throughout the United States,
who have lost their lives in performance of duty, will be read aloud. Following the reading of the names, the department’s Honor Guard will hoist the American Flag to half mast, and present a 21-gun salute. Areas will be designated for sworn law enforcement officers, non-sworn law enforcement personnel, military law enforcement personnel and the public. Parking is available at Beulah Baptist Church, located at the intersection of Harbeson Avenue and McGriff Street. Transportation vehicles will shuttle attendees to and from the service. The ceremony is open to the public and all are invited to attend. The ceremony will last approximately 45 minutes.
